She became involved in her profession after attaining her education degree, but not finding many jobs in the field, so she went back to school in order to pursue a different career path that was hiring, or prominent.

Ms. Teeters also sings in a contemporary Christian group, Divine Third. She incorporates her music with her practice by giving albums to families in order to calm children. The group also sings at a variety of churches and prisons.
