She became involved in her profession because she loved designing things. She got started when, in 2002, her husband lost his job and they needed to continue the children's sports education. She agreed to do a website for the teacher if he taught her children: they negotiated a deal.

Ms. Hafner possesses the ability to learn quickly and to organize her clients' websites, so that their businesses pick up. Her own business picked up when, after Hurricane Katrina, a cousin lost everything and only had her website for income. Ms. Hafner helped her with it and picked up six clients when her cousin told people about it.
