Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because after college she wanted to teach, but became acquainted with folk artists in the area. She started collecting quilts, baskets and other assorted pieces, and eventually turned it into her career.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Weber is passionate about art and enjoys focusing on living artists. She strives to acquaint others with their work in the hopes that it will become discovered and collected. She opened her gallery in September of 1991. It is celebrating its 20th year in establishment. Ms. Weber has been collecting unique and original folk art for almost 40 years. She is an academically trained artist and has taught art as well. She does lectures and has students visit the gallery. She also works with the Mental Health Association and allows individuals to visit the gallery. The gallery has been featured in magazines, as well as on some covers. Ms. Weber has been interviewed by National Public Radio three times, and won numerous awards when she was painting and showing her own work.

Collecting; Documenting; Marketing; Preserving original or unusual artwork, which generally use creative methods shaped by found materials and isolated lifestyles; Managing a gallery; Selling art; Keeping appointments with artists and collectors; Packaging and shipping artwork; Arranging shows in Chicago, New York and Atlanta
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Ms. Weber intends to continue growing her gallery and get back into creating art of her own. She is also considering writing a book.
