What do you feel separates you from the rest of the professionals in your industry?:
What separates me from other professionals is the fact that I always consider a holistic approach to treating patients. As a nurse in advanced practice, I teach and try to role model what it means to consider all aspects and influences the patient or veteran may be experiencing when planning care.
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
My greatest career achievement thus far is obtaining my current position and the fact that I was chosen by the Veteran Affairs to fill this role. This was a new position and I was required to meet all nine dimensions of their criteria. Working with veterans is a privilege and an honor. The Veteran Affairs system receives negative recognition frequently. This is difficult for me to understand. Anyone who has worked in various settings realizes that the highest standard of care is required.
