Mr. Donovan spent 10 years in the fashion design industry. He is also the owner of Designs of Lawrence and the co-owner of Lizak & Donovan Antiques. He has attended numerous workshops with Lenard Armstrong, Ernesto Valentino, Jeanne Lachance, Ruthann Harrington Weston, Oscar Durand, Stan Moller and Dennis Sheehan.
