Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Batcheller became interested in nursing at the age of 5. Her career began in high school as a junior volunteer and then as a nursing assistant. She has worked in many different settings with a focus on critical care. Her professional background includes experience as a staff nurse, nursing director, patient care administrator, vice president of operations and most recently as a chief nursing officer. She also currently serves as the co-patient safety officer for the Seton Family of Hospitals which has led to a more inter-professional focus. Her greatest professional achievement was leading four hospitals to achieve the magnet designation from the American Credentialing Center in Washington DC. All four hospitals were able to achieve this at the same time due to their shared network governance model that has been in place for over 13 years. Ms. Batcheller's greatest joy comes from seeing improved patient outcomes and watching nurses at all levels become more empowered and engaged to truly make a difference. Her success is synonymous with the success of those she works with. She believes that the development of strong relationships and ongoing collaboration are two critical skills essential for her success.
