Dr. Richmond was promoted as a commander and was a captain selectee during his time in the United States Navy. He was an on-board flight surgeon for the USS Nimitz. He resigned from his service due to the demands of operating a private practice and now runs a successful practice. His practice offers dialysis facilities in three different cities.
