She taught in a heterogeneous setting in the next seven years (at different levels - top middle and bottom) and her students always achieve their goals due to her effective teaching skills. Ms. Calgagno experienced a life changing event in 1998 when her mother passed away. She thought that her life was over, until her husband encouraged her to follow her mother's life struggles and achievement. He showed her how much she was like her mother and that she could do a lot of good work for society. She was eternally grateful for his direction and care. The most important words that she lives by are 'Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you' and the words are found in the Serenity prayer. She has written two children's books namely 'Raaof' and 'Raaof Back Again.' They are about an immigrant child who gets acclimated to NYC life in Queens, leading to his adolescent adventures. She has also worked in a nursery school for seven years.
